Working Groups
In order to improve the planned co-ordination activities, four Experts'
working groups are established in the project, each one composed of 5 to 10
participants. The groups are composed mainly of project partners and where
necessary, external experts.
The four groups are responsible for collecting information related to:
- Working group 1: Soil fumigators / Technical suppliers
- Working group 2: Farmers (horticulturists using MB). Regional producers organizations are gathered, which represent more than 50% of the European fruits and vegetables production. A link is also provided with experimental centres.
- Working group 3: Scientists. The responsible partners collect information through their own network, based on scientific publications, minutes of international conferences, contacts, etc.
- Working group 4: Decisions makers. A list of European, national, regional decision makers is set up by AREFLH, the coordinator of the project. Regulations at various levels are collected in order to draw up the information base.
Each working group is under the leadership of a responsible whose responsibilities are: the organisation and the secretariat of the meetings, preparation of the reports and the coordination of the work done with the other working group. These working groups will meet to exchange and analyse data on Methyl Bromide and propose common tools to promote a coordinated dissemination of good practice.
The groups initially worked separately and then the leaders attend synthesis meetings, to present and discuss the information collected. The collection and the synthesis of the information are presented at the meetings of the groups. Each group leader establishes the report of the work done and presents it to the leader of the work package.
