AGROINNOVA possesses extensive facilities including laboratories, experimental fields and greenhouses and hosts national certified laboratories, one for testing pesticide efficacy, including chemical and non chemical one, the second for diagnostics of plant pathogens. Since 1997, the certified laboratory one for testing pesticide efficacy carries out experimental activities particularly in the field of soil disinfestations for several crops.
Recently, AGROINNOVA participated in the registration/ research in Italy of several pesticides useful against soil borne disease in the field of chemical and non chemical compounds. The Plant Pathology Group in AGROINNOVA has extensive experience in biology and epidemiology of plant pathogens of economically important crops, such as Botrytis cinerae, Fusarium oxysporum, Plasmopara viticola, Phytophthora sp as well in their management. The soil disinfestations group is know for its expertise in chemical and non chemical management of soil borne diseases.
The activities are related not only to the technical and scientific development of innovative solutions and strategies but also to support the Italian policies related to MB phasing out actions. In this field the activities are mainly carried out in the frame of an agreement with the Italian Ministry for Environment and Territory. The plant disease management group is actively involved in disease management, by adopting cultural, physical, biological and chemical measures. Another field of activities related to the eradication of seed and soil borne pathogens and soil disinfestations.
